Brief Update:
Currently dabbling in woodworking and 3D printing, coaching high school tennis, and trying to manage parenting.
More Background:
Let's see... Went to Cal and flunked out after sophomore year. Joined the Air Force (the draft, remember) for 2 years. Went back to Cal and finished up 7 years late. Got a teaching credential at (then) Hayward State.
Taught a year of junior high in Las Vegas and then got hired at a high school in East San Jose. Taught mostly English and Social Studies for 44 years – with a little Math thrown in. Advised the school newspaper for 25 years and taught Graphic Design for ten, too. Coached boys and girls tennis for almost 40 years. Finally retired after a highly enjoyable career.
Started everything "real" in life a bit late: got a job at 30, got married at 60, bought a house at 65, and became a father at 77.
Oh, and I'm still playing tennis. Life has been undeservedly wonderful.
