Rick David

Richard Clyde David, better known as Rick, passed away from a stroke back on February 19, 2021 in Boca Raton Florida. I lost track of Rick several years ago and started looking for him and finally connected with his ex wife Karen this past week. Rick was cremated and there was no obituary. Since Rick was the best man at my wedding, I felt some sense of obligation to tell you a little about the person I grew up with. Rick was born on August 26, 1949 in Los Angeles, California. His family moved to Palo Alto, across the street from our family, when Rick was very young. He attended Walter Hayes Elementary School, Jordan Junior High School and Palo Alto Senior High School where he graduated with the class of 1966. After graduation, Rick attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he received his degree in clinical psychology. After graduating from UCSB he got married and eventually moved to southern Florida where he was a practicing clinical psychologist for many years in the Palm Beach County, Florida area serving the cities of Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and Coral Springs. Rick was proceeded in death by his parents, Bob and Barbara David of Santa Fe, New Mexico and his older sister Nancy David Woodruff also of Santa Fe, New Mexico.. Rick is survived by his ex-wife Karen Zax David, his son, Jason David, and his daughter Marissa David, as well as his brother-in-law Woody Woodruff. As I said before, Rick served as the best man at my wedding in November 1971. Rick will be missed by many including his Paly alumni classmates. Rest in peace, my good friend. Love you man!
